Frequently Asked Questions

What are Eyelash Extensions?
Eyelash Extensions are a popular new service and product that lengthens and thickens your own natural eyelashes. Lash Extensions are single strands of synthetic eyelashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash. They are applied to each individual natural eyelash one by one for a natural, beautiful and luscious look. Eyelash Extensions are perfect for special occasions or for day to day wear.

Where do I go to have my Eyelash Extensions applied?
I live in Alpine, and that is where my studio is set up. If you need a house call, I will happily do so for a service charge of $20.

What do Eyelash Extensions look like when applied?
The look and feel is completely natural looking and real. No one will know you have extensions. They will just think you were born with beautiful, long lashes!

How long will a set of Eyelash Extensions last?
Eyelash Extensions will last the length of the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes. Everyone's experience will differ based on day to day activities but over all touchups should only be required every 3 to 6 weeks. A special waterproof bonding agent is used. Glue does not contain any fumes or irritants and is long lasting.

How often should I get touch ups?
I recommend getting a touch up every 3 to 6 weeks. If you wait too long your eyelash extensions will fall out and you will require a new full set. Your natural eyelashes fall off every 45 - 60 days due to the natural growth cycle and are naturally replaced with the growth of a new eyelash. Other factors such as expsoure to steam or touching your eyes a lot may cause the extensions to fall sooner. A touch up is needed to fill in any lashes that fallen. Touch ups average about 1 hour.

Can I still use mascara?
No. There is no need to- you have beautiful long dark extensions! Mascara will only damage extensions. You should also avoid using eye makeup remover directly to lashes. The best way to wash your face is to wipe carefully around the eyes. Soap in general will not harm the extensions, though.

Can I swim, shower, and exercise while wearing Eyelash Extensions?
Yes. The bonding agent used is waterproof and allows you to shower, swim, exercise etc. I do recommend however that you do not wash your eye area for about 12- 24 hours after the eyelash application.

Can I still use my eyelash curler?
No! Once again, you don't need to! The extensions already have a natural 'C' or 'J' curve to them, and will hold forever.

How do I care for my new Eyelash Extensions?

Do not get lashes wet for 36 hours
Avoid hot steam or sauna
Do not rub your eyes
Do not use mascara or curlers
Only used water based makeup removers
Do not pull on your lashes
Do lie and say they are yours!!

How long to Eyelash Extensions take and how are they done?
The application process for lash extensions normally takes 3 hours. You will lay comfortably on recliner with your eyes closed. I will then apply an under eye gel pad to cover your lower lashes. Then the extensions will be applied to each individual eyelash on a hair by hair basis.

What To Remember Before Your Appointment

  • A new set takes about 3 hours, while a fill takes about 1 hour. Make sure you set this time aside!
  • Contact lenses should not be worn during application.
  • Remove ALL makeup before arriving for appointment! I need a clean canvas to work with.
